PATNA (MR): GIIT, located at Dakbungla Chauraha in Patna, launched a special training program today to train youth in the fields of digital and web media. The program was inaugurated by WJAI National President Anand Kaushal and General Secretary Amitabh Ojha, who jointly lit the ceremonial lamp. The guests discussed in detail the growing influence of digital and web media, its advantages, and the role of Information Technology (IT) in journalism. On this occasion, Anand Kaushal was felicitated with an angavastram by National Office Secretary Akbar Imam, and Amitabh Ojha was honored by Mukhiajee.com and Radio Mukhiaji Editor Rajesh Thakur.
What Anand Kaushal Said:
Anand Kaushal stated that today’s era is one of digital transformation. The nature of journalism is rapidly evolving, making it essential for youth to be technically proficient and learn to use digital platforms positively. This training program will provide them with practical knowledge and insights into modern tools.
What Amitabh Ojha Said:
Amitabh Ojha remarked that digital media has made news dissemination faster, wider, and more impactful. However, this also increases its responsibility. Through this program, youth will not only gain technical knowledge but also learn about the ethics and responsibilities of journalism. He emphasized that journalism should always be practiced within its ethical boundaries.

On this occasion, WJAI National Secretary Madhup Mani Pikku shared that the course is specifically designed for students and young journalists aspiring to build careers in web media, news portals, social media journalism, and digital content creation. The training program covers topics such as modern digital tools, video editing, Content Management Systems (CMS), social media strategies, and data journalism. He added that the course certification will be provided by the Government of India’s Skill India initiative.

During the program, students of the institute shared their experiences in digital media and interacted with the guests. The inauguration ceremony was conducted by WJAI Secretary Madhup Mani Pikku.
