At a time when mobile screens are increasingly replacing books, a positive and inspiring initiative has emerged from Ram Biharipur village under Murade Panchayat in Haveli Kharagpur block of Munger district. Ward Councillor and BJP Yuva Morcha Deputy Chairman Mukesh Kumar Yadav not only felicitated students who passed the Matriculation Examination 2026 but also gifted them competitive exam books, aiming to provide them with a clear direction for the future.
This year, more than 170 students from the panchayat successfully passed the matriculation exam. Among them, Gaurav Kumar emerged as the panchayat topper and secured a place in the district’s top ten. He too was honored during the ceremony with books and a pen. The felicitation program was not merely ceremonial but carried a deeper message, that success is just the beginning, and the next milestone still awaits.

A Gift of Commitment Along with Honor:
The most notable aspect of the event was that instead of just trophies or certificates, students were given useful books for competitive examinations. These included general knowledge and other subject-related books. The objective behind this initiative was clear to provide not only recognition but also tangible resources for future preparation. Mukesh Kumar Yadav stated that he wants children from the village to move forward, dream big, and receive the right guidance to achieve those dreams. According to him, these books are not just gifts but a gateway to a brighter future.

Reviving Reading Culture in the Mobile Era:
After the ceremony, Mukesh Kumar Yadav expressed concern over changing lifestyles, noting that the increasing use of mobile phones has reduced reading habits among the youth. One of the key aims of the program was to rekindle interest in reading so that students do not rely solely on online sources but also gain knowledge through offline study.
The event, held in Ram Bihari Pur, was attended by Kharagpur Police Station in-charge Rajesh Kumar, Sarpanch representative Rashid Qamar, Committee representative Kuber Kumar, former Sarpanch Vinodi Yadav, advocate Rajpati Yadav, former BJP town president Shiv Prakash Modi, BJP OBC Morcha’s Ranveer Sharma, along with several others including Vibhansh Singh, Aman Raj, Rajeev Yadav, Ajit Yadav, Aman Chain, Anil Sah, Pratap Singh, Mantu Soren, Manish Anand, Sunny Kumar, Rakesh Ranjan, Ravi, Ravish, and a large number of villagers.

A First-of-its-Kind Initiative in the Panchayat:
Speakers present at the event described the initiative as historic. They pointed out that despite panchayat elections being held since 2005, no public representative had ever organized such an educational and motivational program. Students and villagers alike emphasized that this was not just a felicitation ceremony but the beginning of a shift in mindset within the village.
Mukesh Yadav’s initiative establishes him not just as a public representative but as a young leader who views politics through the lens of development and education. Villagers congratulated him and noted that this effort has sent a strong message at the grassroots level—that with determination, even small initiatives can lead to significant change.
Overall, the event in Ram Bihari Pur has become a source of inspiration for other panchayats. When recognition comes with books, it ceases to be just a reward—it becomes a tool to shape the future of an entire generation.
