Election Commission of India Launches Major Campaign for Voter List Accuracy in Bihar

PATNA / DELHI (MR) : In preparation for the Bihar Legislative Assembly Election 2025, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched an extensive training campaign to ensure the accuracy of the voter list in the state. As part of this initiative, 27 master trainers from Bihar have been sent to the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) in New Delhi for specialized training.

The group includes 16 national-level and 11 state-level master trainers. To prioritize voter list accuracy, the ECI is also training polling station officials from Bihar in New Delhi. Additionally, Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by recognized political parties in the state have undergone training to enhance political participation. This training program is scheduled to continue until the end of next month.

With a total of 77,895 polling stations in Bihar, training such a large number of officials and staff is a significant undertaking. The ECI has made comprehensive arrangements to facilitate this process. The Commission has also held meetings with representatives of political parties at the state and district levels to gather suggestions, ensuring the voter list is fully accurate and updated.

The ECI’s efforts are set to play a crucial role in making the upcoming assembly elections fair, inclusive, and error-free.
